Abstract
|
|
|
Purpose :This study was carried out to investigate trends of using BORO(Bojungikgi-Tang)-Ex on gynecologic fields and make a proposal of its usage during menstrual period.
Methods :I researched 58 outpatients who treated with Boro-EX at Dept. of Ob&Gy GangNam Traditional Korean Medicine Hospital, College of T.K.M, Dongguk Univ. from March 1, 2004 to February 28, 2005. And I analyzed their medical records retrospectively.
Results : 1. Average medication time in this research was 5.5 days and there were no side effects. so I can conclude that every patient easily adapted to BORO-Ex. 2. Patients who had a symptom related with menstrual period such as pain or abnormal bleeding were 24 in 58 patients, It amounted to 48%. 3. The main usage of BORO-Ex. was supplementary to boiled herbal medicine, such cases are 30 patients, It amounted to 51.7%. Thus we need more study about single treatment method with BORO-Ex.
Conclusion : I expect to use BORO-Ex for primary dysmenorrhea, uterine myoma, adenomyosis, postpartum non-specific pains, and pelvic pains.
